“Between Places” consists of collaborative work between Jena Seiler and Cayla Skillin-Brauchle, who are often separated by states, countries, or continents. For Seiler and Skillin-Brauchle the distance between the two artist becomes a productive part of the work. As it informs both their physical locations in relation to one another the work both highlights transitory spaces and reflects upon immediate locales. Their practice relies upon observation and patience, and records concurrent experiences in disparate places. The artists fuse a measured, ethereal aesthetic with everyday objects and actions, rendering their artworks simultaneously familiar and remote.
